In 2015 the discovery of the White City, also known as the lost city of the monkey god, was made
official. After this official announcement I dedicated myself to research deeply about this discovery to
compose this musical. It filled me with great interest to know that there was a connection with the
New York of the 40s, because curiously in 1933 the film King Kong had premiered at Radio City Music
Hall in New York. It also filled me with great interest to know that the technological elements of our
time helped to discover this wonderful lost city.
In the final phase of the composing process I met with Steve Elkins, the explorer who discovered the
lost city, showed him my musical libretto and told him how the story was coming together. I was
delighted to see his happy face when he realized what I was doing, in fact, I invited him to record the
opening narration of my musical in the recording studio, which was a wonderful experience to be able
to record his voice.
